Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital in Greater Baton Rouge is one of only eight St. Jude Affiliate Clinics in the country. Housed in a one-of-a-kind, full-floor, inpatient and outpatient services in one place, this care team is made up of experienced, compassionate and knowledgeable nurses who have additional training (APHON/CPON) to care for the unique healthcare needs of children with pediatric cancer, sickle cell disease, lupus and other blood diseases and disorders.

Cancer & Infusion Center in Acadiana

Oncology and blood disorder treatment should not require travel arrangements. That’s why the Cancer & Infusion center at the Kid's Specialty Center, an outpatient treatment center located on the campus of Our Lady of Lourdes Women's & Children's Hospital, provides infusions, transfusions, injections and other related services for Acadiana’s women and children.

The nurses and staff have extensive training and experience in providing quality service to oncology and blood disorder patients. In addition, the Child Life Specialist Program provides age-appropriate approaches to help the littlest patients and their loved ones better understand procedures and treatment options. Treatment services include:

  • Chemotherapy
  • Blood/blood products administration
  • IV solutions/medications
  • Injections
  • Hydration/fluids administration
