Sheila Moore, M.D., received her MD degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1964. She did a rotating internship and first year pediatric residency in Nashville, Tennessee at Mid-State Baptist Hospital; she resumed her pediatric training at Earl K Long Medical Center, completing her residency in June 1973. From July 1973 to October 1998 she stayed at Earl K Long, first as an instructor and then as a Clinical Associate Professor at LSU. She became a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics in 1975. She developed a sickle cell clinic, a general hematology clinic and an oncology clinic. She became a member of the sub board of pediatric hematology-oncology in October 1984. In October 1998, she retired from LSU and became the Medical Director of the St. Jude Affiliate Clinic in Baton Rouge. She continues to practice there.
