Preparation: Your Best Hurrricane Defense

08/27/2012

When putting together hurricane supplies, make sure you have an up-to-date first aid kit and at least a three to five-day supply of prescription medications.

Remember your family's special medical needs as well. Epi-pens, diabetic supplies and allergy shots are just a few examples of needs that may arise post-hurricane.

The Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Get a Game Plan website provides a resource for families, businesses and even kids to learn how to be prepared.

In the event of inclement weather, your best defense is to be prepared.
